Shocking moment Jewish woman kicked in the head by teenage girls and left 'unconscious'

The Metropolitan Police are appealing for witnesses after a “violent robbery” of a Jewish woman in north London that saw the victim chased and kicked in the head, allegedly leaving her unconscious.

A CCTV video was posted on X by neighbourhood watch group Shomrim, which shows a woman, 20, being pursued across the road before being set upon by two attackers.

The Jewish-run volunteer security group claimed that the attack was racially motivated and that a witness heard the attackers bragging she’s “dead” after the incident.

The Metropolitan Police’s account of the incident makes no mention of Shomrim’s claim that the woman was left unconscious, but the force is conducting an investigation. The young victim had her bag stolen and “sustained bruising” but “did not require hospital treatment”.

Detective Inspector Mike Herrick, who is leading the investigation from the robbery unit, said: “This was a shocking incident and terrifying experience for the victim who was lucky to not receive more serious injuries.

“We don’t underestimate the psychological impact of offences such as these and we are offering her every support as we work to identify the suspects.”

He added: “We know footage of the incident has been widely shared on social media and understand that there will be added concerns about the motivation behind the attack.

“We will of course keep an open mind about the motive and continue to work closely with the local community to allay any fears.”

Shomrim said its volunteers “spent all night recovering CCTV & searching for witnesses” and “are supporting the victim and her family”.

Anyone with information which could assist the investigation is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 5505/07Dec.

Information can also be shared with the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
