Shocking moment David Lammy's speech at Labour event interrupted by Palestinian protestors

A speech by Labour’s Shadow Foreign Secretary David Lammy has erupted into chaos this afternoon after a pro-Palestine protestor jumped onto the stage at a Labour Party event in London.

Speaking at Guildhall Yard at the FEPS-Fabian Society’s New Year Conference 2024: Plans for Power event, which organisers describe as one of the “biggest events in the political calendar”, the MP for Tottenham was heckled by two people who could be heard shouting that Palestine had a “right to defend itself”.

Security officials soon led the protestors away, before one man could be heard shouting at the protestors. He was later restrained by other conference attendees – who were gathered in the conference hall to learn about David Lammy’s foreign policy plans if Labour win the next general election – expected to take place in the second half of the year.

Other senior Labour figures expected to appear at today’s event included Emily Thornberry, Anneliese Dodds, Hilary Benn and Jonathan Reynolds.
