An MP has been suspended for 30 days after it emerged she had travelled from London to Scotland despite testing positive for Covid in 2020. Margaret Ferrier was kicked out of the Scottish National Party when details of the breach emerged and pleaded guilty to culpable and reckless conduct in 2021. In a damning verdict the Parliamentary standards committee said the Rutherglen and Hamilton West MP had acted with “blatant and deliberate dishonest intent”.
