Schoolgirl, 11, hosted sleepover with friends before she was found dead with family

An 11-year-old girl found dead at her Hounslow home, together with her brother and parents, hosted a sleepover just a few days before the tragedy, it has been revealed.

Meanwhile Maja Wlodarczyk’s school has released a moving tribute to the youngster, describing her as “bright, confident, determined, and an excellent student”, as well as revealing her three-year-old brother Dawid had been due to join its nursery in September.

Maja, Dawid and their parents, Michal and Monika Wlodarczyk, aged 39 and 35 respectively, were all found dead at the property, in Staines Road, Bedmont, on Saturday after concerned police forced their way into the property.

Police are keeping an “open mind” about the deaths, while not believing anyone else is involved, and have asked people not to speculate online.

Speaking at the scene, Maria Gouveia, 37 said her daughter, a classmate of Maja’s, attended a sleepover party at the house on May 31.

She added: “It’s tragic, her parents were really good people, hard workers.

“Maja was a lovely, beautiful girl, with a strong personality, but she had not been in school for a few days.

“People in her class were texting her, my daughter messaged her on Snapchat, it was not like her to go quiet.”

Ms Gouveia also believed the family had been planning a family holiday to mark Mr Wlodarczyk’s birthday, saying: “That’s where I hoped they were when I heard about this.

“It’s shocking, the little boy was so sweet, he was going to start nursery in a few months, we are praying for them.”

Joanne Lacey, headteacher of Southville Primary School, said: “Maja was a valued member of our Southville family.

“She was bright, confident, determined, sporty, and an excellent student.

“Maja’s brother, Dawid, was due to join us in our Nursery in September.

“This is clearly devastating news for Maja’s friends, our school family and the wider local community.”

She also confirmed plans to hold a “celebration” of Maja’s life, and confirmed Thursday’s Upper School Sports Day had been postponed.

Another neighbour told The Telegraph Maja had last been seen at school last Monday, with a teacher asking pupils if they knew where she was.

The parent, who asked to remain anonymous, added: “I think it was her who called the police.

“She had a whole conversation with us, asking if any of us have heard from Maja. She said she would call someone if none of us had.”

Another neighbour Oana Petraru, 31, said: “I just saw the mum because the garden is just out there. I saw her sometimes with the kids outside.

“They were very happy. She was always playing with them, with the ball, just being a mum, you know?

“I never saw the dad, only maybe last week they were playing outside and he was up on the shed and he was climbing up to take the balls down.”
