Schoolchildren 'become sick' after being caught up in horrific queues at Dover

Schoolchildren caught in horrendous 70-hour queues at Dover are being physically sick with some not eating for over 15 hours. Enormous tailbacks have formed running up the Port of Dover ferry terminals with coachloads of children stuck in the enormous traffic jam.

It’s thought thousands of people have been left stranded in the delays brought about by holiday times clashing with a combination of bad weather and border control hold-ups across the Channel in France.

The Port of Dover declared a critical incident over the backlog and a spokesperson said it was “deeply frustrated” as coach traffic faced “significant delays” it said were “due to lengthy French border processes and sheer volume”.
