Schoolboy, 12, knocked over by car and narrowly missed by another

A schoolboy experienced a terrifying moment where he was knocked over by a car before being narrowly missed by another.

A second car followed around the corner and crashed into a parked car to avoid the boy, missing him by inches before driving away.

Paramedics called to the scene said the boy was lucky to have escaped serious injury, according to his father.

He told CoventryLive: “He was crossing the road, and the car turned into him – he was hit by the red car which knocked him to the floor.

“He was literally half on and half off the pavement and the second car hit a black car and missed him by inches.”

In the days after the incident, the boy was limping. A hospital visit revealed he had a fractured ankle and is in a boot.

His father said the collision has left the schoolboy “scared and traumatised”.

“He has not left the house since that day on his own and he is quite scared,” the father added. “He does not want to cross roads, so there is a bit of trauma involved.

“It is going to take time for him to get over it.”

Police are investigating the collision, but haven’t made any arrests yet, according to the Coventry Telegraph.
