Scaffolding collapses above two shops on busy high street – 20 people evacuated


The emergency services have blocked off the road with an ambulance and fire engine present.

According to the London Fire Brigade (LFB), scaffolding and masonry fell onto the pavement on Stoke Newington High Street,

Around 20 people were evacuated from the two shops via the rear of the properties. There are currently no reports of injury.

The LFB confirmed at 9.48am that its firefighters were attending a “partial building collapse” on Stoke Newington High Street.
