Sarah Ferguson will not be joining the rest of the Royal Family at Westminster Abbey for the King’s Coronation next month as Charles has left her off the guest list.
But the Duchess of York is unperturbed by this as she has exciting plans of her own – which she has exclusively revealed to Express.co.uk.
She is set to sit in front of the TV and watch the drama unfold from the comfort of her own home.
“I will definitely be watching it on television and be championing it from the television,” she said.
Fergie also revealed that two special friends of the late Queen Elizabeth II will also be joining her.
Speaking with Express.co.uk at The London Bookfair 2023, Fergie revealed that she will be spending the Coronation at home.
Asked whether the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Corgis, Muick (pronounced Mick) and Sandy, will be there with her, she said: “Yes of course! Course, they will be barking away.”
The Duchess of York, who famously adopted the late monarch’s two surviving corgis alongside ex-husband Prince Andrew, also said she looks forward to raising a toast on Coronation day.
Sarah has given regular updates on the corgis over the past few months and recently revealed she thinks they can sense the late Queen’s presence, seven months after her death.
She said the pair “bark at nothing”, which she believes means “they can sense the late Queen’s presence at Royal Lodge, Windsor”.
The Duchess added: “It makes me think Queen Elizabeth is passing by and laughing. I’m not being weird.”
She claimed the corgis were still “grieving” the late Queen, adding: “At night they like their own space. I respect that they probably do miss her. I miss her too.”
The late Queen owned more than 30 corgis during her reign and was known for her love of the breed. They became so synonymous with her that the pets became a symbol of British royalty around the world.
On Tuesday afternoon, Sarah also heaped praised on King Charles during a meet and greet at the event and said the Coronation marks an “exciting new chapter” for the new monarch.
“There is no question about it,” she said, “It is a really exciting new chapter and a new way ahead. I can think of no better person for the job.
“I think it’s going to be a wonderful moment to unite the nation as we will all be out there celebrating. I just admire him and everything he does so much.”
Last week it was reported that Sarah Ferguson, who was married to Prince Andrew until 1996, has not received a Coronation invite.
Royal journalist Omid Scobie, who co-wrote a biography about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, disagreed with the move and wrote on Twitter: “If true, this feels kinda cruel, no?”
Her two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will attend the main event however, alongside their father Prince Andrew.
The trio are not expected to form part of the official Coronation Procession after the service or step out onto the Buckingham Palace balcony, as none of them are working members of the Royal Family.
Asked how her youngest daughter Eugenie is doing at the moment, as she is currently pregnant with her second child, Sarah said she was “doing very well”.
