Sarah Ferguson gives update on late Queen's corgis and what they're 'always doing'

Sarah Ferguson has surprised royal fans with a sweet update on the late Queen’s two corgis, Sandy and Muick. The 64-year-old and her ex-husband Prince Andrew, who both still live at Royal Lodge, adopted the two corgis after the late Queen Elizabeth II’s death last year.

Since last September, the former royal has treated fans to regular updates on how her four-legged friends are doing and has now shared one thing that they are “always doing”.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Sarah shared a sweet new picture of both Muick and Sandy. Along with the picture, Sarah wrote: “Always begging for treats!”

Speaking of Muick and Sandy, Sarah previously told BBC Radio 2 back in April they were “really happy”.

The adorable corgis were previously gifted to the late Queen during lockdown to “keep her entertained” while she was staying at Windsor Castle and, also, while Prince Philip was struggling with his declining health.

Muick and Sandy, who were described by Sarah as “so sweet”, were even spotted saying a farewell to the late owner.

Giving a previous update on them, Sarah also told the radio station that they sleep in “royal dog beds with crowns on them” and that “their tails have gone up now” which, she suggested, must mean they are over their grief.

Confirmation of who would care for Muick and Sandy was revealed shortly after the late Queen’s death on September 8, 2022. On the one year anniversary of her passing, Sarah shared a new picture of herself with the corgis.

Alongside the picture, the caption read: “As we mourn a year on, we also celebrate the wonderful times we shared with Her Late Majesty the Queen.

“She entrusted me with the care of her corgis Sandy and Muick and I am delighted to say they are thriving.”

When the corgis were gifted to the late Queen, her trusted confidant Angela Kelly referred to them as a “godsend”.

The late Queen’s love of dogs has been well-documented, with her having previously reportedly referring to them as “family”.

A source close to Prince Andrew previously told The Telegraph that Sarah bonded with the late Queen over their shared love for the corgis.

They said: “The Duchess [of York] bonded with Her Majesty over dog walking and riding horses and even after her divorce, she would continue her great friendship with Her Majesty, by walking the dogs in Frogmore and chatting.”
