Russian hackers bring down official French website with dig at Macron over protests

A pro-Putin group hacked the French National Assembly website on Monday in solidarity for protesters fighting against Emmanuel Macron’s pension reform. The Russian group also denounced on its Telegram channel that the failure of French MPs to vote against Macron’s Government resulted in a week of violent protests in France.

One of the hackers wrote on the channel: “We decided to repeat our recent trip to France, where protests against [French President Emmanuel] Macron, who decided not to give a damn about the French and continues to ‘serve’ Ukrainian neo-Nazis, still do not subside.”

They added: “By the way, it was the actions of this French authority that served as a catalyst for mass protests in the country — a week ago, the National Assembly rejected a vote of no confidence in the French government.”
