Russia fears ‘Ukrainian sabotage’ after freight train derails and erupts into flames

Cunning saboteurs derailed a Russian freight train loaded with oil and construction materials, and destroyed power cables with explosives.

The train came off its tracks before it burst into flames. It was derailed by an explosive device in the Bryansk region, a mere 37 miles from Ukraine’s border.

The attack comes as Putin’s forces brace for the heralded Ukrainian counteroffensive, with Zelensky’s forces looking to strike back against the Russians invaders.

The country’s rail network, Russian Railways, said the assault on the freight train occurred at 10.17am Moscow time (07.17 GMT).
