Nayacalevu endured a difficult evening in Toulouse despite leading his country to the next round, as he appeared to be carrying an injury and was forced off after an hour had been played.

His performance was filled with handling errors and the team got over the line in the most unspectacular fashion, giving Portugal their first-ever World Cup victory in the process, before later cursing at a Fijian reporter.
