Royal reconciliation 'impossible' unless Prince William apologises, biographer says

A reconciliation between Prince Harry and Prince William is “impossible” unless the Prince of Wales apologise for Meghan Markle’s role, royal biographer Omid Scobie has said.

The statement comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s biographer, Mr Scobie is soon going to release his new book, Endgame.

The claims were reported in the French magazine Paris Match, which shared new extracts from a book that talks about Harry and Meghan and their departure from the monarchy.

During the interview with the magazine, Mr Scobie asked if reconciliation will ever be possible and he answered: “William is very angry with his brother, especially since the publication of Prince Harry’s autobiography.

“It’s true that the two brothers have reached an impasse. But isn’t that common in many families?

“Tomorrow, they could be best friends again, without anyone understanding why… However, I must say, I don’t believe it.

“As long as they can’t talk to each other with anything other than anger and jealousy, reconciliation will be impossible.

“William would also have to acknowledge his part in Meghan and Harry’s departure.”

Relations between the royal brothers have also long been strained and worsened after the accusations Prince Harry publicly levelled at his brother in double tell-alls: his memoir Spare and his Netflix documentary.

In Spare, released just months after Elizabeth II died, Harry accused William of physically attacking him and pushing him into a dog bowl in a row over Meghan.

Endgame is the second book about the couple authored by Mr Scobie, who co-authored and released Finding Freedom in 2020.
