Royal fans refuse to buy Meghan Markle's strawberry jam when it eventually goes on sale

Royal fans have stated that they will refuse to buy Meghan Markle’s strawberry jam when it eventually goes on sale, poll results have shown.

The strawberry jam by Meghan’s new lifestyle brand – American Riviera Orchard – was sent out to 50 influencers to taste test earlier this week, but is yet to become publicly available to purchase.

Each pot was labelled with the brand and Montecito, and each jar labelled through from one to 50.

Express.co.uk conducted a survey, which ran from April 16 at 2pm until April 17 at 9.30am, to ask fans whether they would purchase a jar once it becomes publicly available.

13,917 votes in total were collected, with 98 percent [13,690 votes] of those stating that they would not be interested in buying a jar of Meghan’s jam.

Only one percent [163 votes] voted that they would buy a jar, with a further 1 percent [64 votes] stating that they were undecided on whether they would buy one or not.

Some of the influencers that managed to get their hands on the first few jars, included fashion designer Tracy Robbins.

Taking to Instagram, Ms Robbins shared a picture of the jar to her story along with the caption: “@AmericanRivieraOrchard breakfast, lunch and dinner just got a little sweeter.”

Despite only featuring pictures of the brand’s logo, American Riviera Orchard already has a staggering 599,000 followers on Instagram.

Meghan, 42, launched her brand on March 14 – with the release of an Instagram account and a short black-and-white video.

The Duchess of Sussex did launch a website, one which gave fans the option to enter their email addresses to gain more information once any products were revealed.

As well as Tracy Robbins, Delfina Blaquier – who is wife of Harry’s friend Nacho Figueras – also got hold of one of the 50 jars.

Her post, which also featured a picture of the jar, read: “Strawberry jam makes me happy / and I [heart] your jam @americanrivieraorchard.”

Aside from the launch of her new brand, many fans have been speculating whether Meghan will join Harry in the UK next month.

Harry is set to attend a special event to mark the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8.

Questions have also arose over whether the couple could also bring their two children with them to the UK.
