Royal Family staff 'cheering' as Meghan 'circus not coming to town' for Coronation

Palace aides are allegedly “cheering” because the Meghan “circus” is not going to be an issue at King Charles’ Coronation in May, one royal insider claimed. Buckingham Palace confirmed this week that only Prince Harry will attend the historic event while the Duchess of Sussex stays in California with the children.

One insider claimed that Palace staff were allegedly “cheering that the circus wasn’t coming to town”.

Another source told the newspaper that they had sympathy for Meghan, adding: “She is very much damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t.

“As a mother she’s probably doing the right thing by her young children which should be applauded.”

Several royal commentators have suggested that Prince Archie Harrison’s birthday, which falls on the same day as the Coronation, was one consideration behind the decision.

“It is one thing to attend the late Queen’s funeral out of respect for Her Majesty but another thing entirely to attend the start of a new reign.”

Harry’s visit will mark his first encounter with his family since the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September.

Since then, the Sussexes have been highly critical of the royals. They released a Netflix series, and Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’ included damaging words about some of his family.

Deepak Chopra, an Indian-American mindfulness expert who appeared on Harry and Meghan’s podcast in 2020, has said this week that the Sussexes are “struggling” amid the rift between themselves and the Royal Family.

He told the Daily Mail: “I enjoyed the podcast and interacted with them. It has been periodic – they’re struggling right now.

“I hope they get through it light-hearted. I think there’s too much drama around them. People should mind their own business.”

He also offered advice to Harry, saying: “My advice is to ignore it because if you react you’ll just aggravate the situation. If you ignore it, people can’t say anything, then they’ll stop.”
