Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry should 'put the past aside' as he visits King Charles

Prince Harry will hopefully have “put aside the past” as he met with his father King Charles, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, a royal expert has claimed. The Duke arrived at Clarence House on Tuesday evening to be at King Charles‘ side following his shock cancer diagnosis.

The Duke of Sussex has not seen the King since the Coronation in May last year despite making two trips home since then in June and September.

Even during the Coronation weekend, it is understood there was no time for them to have a proper face-to-face meeting.

Earlier, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said it was important for the Duke to show solidarity with his father, reported Mail Online.

He said: “I’m sure Harry will put aside the past right now for this serious issue. It’s so important that everyone is pulling in the right direction”.

Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that the monarch has been diagnosed with cancer, causing ripples of shock worldwide.

The announcement came 10 days after he was treated with a benign enlarged prostate. He was given the cancer news having undergone subsequent tests while he was receiving the treatment at The London Clinic. It is not connected with his recent surgery and it is not prostate cancer.
