Royal Family LIVE: Meghan Markle’s first appearance in years signals ‘fresh hell’ for King

A new Instagram photo of Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has led commentators to believe a “fresh hell” awaits King Charles III.

The royal, 42, was pictured in a rare selfie with her friends as she returned to social media in a snap taken by her hairdresser, Kadi Lee.

The hair colourist celebrated writer Cleo Wade in a post on her Instagram account, wishing her a happy birthday.

The Duchess beamed alongside her friends as Ms Lee welcomed “belated [birthday] celebrations [with] these lovely muses”.

While the selfie appeared innocent enough, one royal commentator has suggested she is on the cusp of a major “relaunch” across the Atlantic.

Writing for news.com.au, Daniela Elser said it “now looks a hell of a lot like Meghan is on the cusp of some sort of great big Stateside relaunch”.

The commentator said the Instagram shot acting as her return to social media came at an interesting moment, with the Sussexes now working on a new project for Netflix based on the bestselling novel “Meet Me at the Lake”.

Ms Elser concluded that a “great Sussex second coming” is on the horizon but questioned whether it would work, leaving the King with a “fresh hell”.

She said: “Will companies pay to get into bed with Meghan and will women the world over click, buy and watch what she has to offer?

“And if it doesn’t work, just how much of a fresh hell could this create for His Majesty?”
