Megxit and other Royal controversies have left Kate, Princess of Wales, with the exact opposite of what she wanted in the royal family – while Meghan hasn’t been met with the private life she sought in California either, a royal commentator has claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex left the royal family with husband Prince Harry in 2021, stating they sought a more private life away from the cameras.
However, as Daniela Elser, writing for news.com.au observed, her life since has been anything but – with paparazzi following her every move more than ever.
Meanwhile, Kate has found herself having to carry a lot of the royal family’s weight on the shoulders of herself and husband, Prince William, as Meghan and Harry’s exit, combined with controversy over Prince Andrew’s friendship with pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, has left the list of working Royals looking thin.
Ms Elser wrote: “When it comes to both the duchess and the princess, two women separated by a literal and a figurative ocean, they are united in that the reality they both face is not what they want.”
She pointed out that while the Sussexes have repeatedly tried to improve their privacy as new snaps keep emerging of them, Kate was actively courting the cameras in her appearances at Wimbledon.
Ms Elser added: “Meghan has not gotten some peaceful life where she can waft around the toney environs of Santa Barbara putting her titanium Amex to work before repairing home to polish her collection of Emmys.
“And Kate has not ended up in a situation where she and husband Prince William have another co-HRH couple to help share the royal working load with them.
“The Sussexes are now facing a major career slump, and the Waleses have been left to single-handedly carry the can for the monarchy.”
