Royal Family LIVE: Harry's 24-hour opportunity to 'heal rift with dad' without Meghan

Prince Harry’s role at the Invictus Games taking place in Germany next month will give him a rare opportunity to meet with his father, the King, without Meghan.

The King is expected to return from his summer holiday in Balmoral on September 17, the day after the Invictus Games comes to an end in Dusseldorf.

Harry is returning from Germany to the US via the UK, meaning there may be a 24-hour period in which crisis talks can proceed.

But there’s a catch, one specific rule that must be adhered to, if the Duke of Sussex has any hope of patching things up with King Charles; the details of the conversation cannot be leaked into the public domain.

A royal insider told OK!: “The King loves his son very much but he has been mortally wounded by what he has done.

“He will always be there for him but draws the line at public slanging matches. If the talks take place, the King will make it very clear that there will be absolutely no private family business discussed in public moving forward.”

It might just be possible for Harry to win back his Dad, according to experts. However, his brother Prince William may prove a tougher nut to crack, with the heir to the throne said to still be enraged about the revelations shared in his younger brother’s memoir Spare.
