Royal Family LIVE: Harry faces 'hellish' decision to pick between Meghan and Charles

Prince Harry will be forced to choose between his loyalties to his father King Charles and wife Meghan Markle, according to a royal expert. The Duke of Sussex has confirmed he will be attending his father’s Coronation on May 6, however there is speculation over how long the father-of-two will stay in the country, as it is his son Archie’s fourth birthday.

Writing for news.com.au, royal expert Daniela Elser said Prince Harry’s decision will be “hellish” as if it is perceived he’s dashed off too swiftly after such a landmark historic occasion, his father, brother and other senior members of his family may feel insulted.

Due to the time difference between London and Montecito, he could just make it for his son’s birthday, if he leaves on the day of the Coronation.

An old friend of Prince William told Tom Sykes for the Daily Beast: “If he comes for less than 24 hours, it’s a massive diss really.

“You know, ‘Tell us how you really feel, Harry.’”

However, should Harry opt to stay at Frogmore Cottage for a few days following the ceremony, he risks missing his son’s birthday altogether.

As such, Harry has a choice between supporting his father on what Ms Elser describes as “the most important week of the King’s life” or whizzing home, at the risk of alienating his father, family and much of the country, to make his son’s fourth birthday.
