Royal Family LIVE: Harry and Meghan's two-word excuse as their careers begin to 'flop'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly feel they have been “repeatedly unlucky” with their projects since leaving royal life behind.

It comes after the Wall Street Journal branded them as “flops” in Hollywood. Last month the couple parted ways with Spotify having only produced 12 episodes of Meghan’s podcast Archetypes in the three years since their deal was signed.

Their output at Netflix so far has also received mixed responses, with docuseries Harry & Meghan being a huge hit for the platform.

But the series Pearl, which Meghan was slated to be an executive producer on, was cancelled amid a series of cutbacks.

Writing in the Daily Mail Alison Boshoff claimed the Sussexes “are convinced their downfall was nothing to do with them” and that she has been told they “both feel they have been ‘repeatedly unlucky’ with other world events”.

Royal columnist Daniela Elser wrote for news.com.au: “What is so remarkable here is that, if what Boshoff reports is correct, Harry and Meghan still cannot accept their culpability for their own lives and how they turn out.

“When will they actually metabolise and accept the fact they are not wholly blameless in the various messes that seem to follow them?

“Harry has spoken repeatedly, to his credit, about having therapy, but what I find strange is that therapy is not a high-priced way to apportion blame while lying prone on a sofa but a process that demands taking an unflinching and honest look at yourself.

“So how can the Duke and Duchess, at least according to the Mail’s telling, still not get it?”
