Roy Hodgson 'taken ill' and skips press conference with Palace boss on verge of sack

Crystal Palace’s press conference this afternoon has been cancelled with Roy Hodgson taken ill during the morning’s training session, the Premier League club have confirmed. The former England manager had been due to speak to the media at 1:30pm on Thursday but the briefing will now not go ahead.

A club statement issued at 1pm on Thursday read: “Unfortunately, today’s press conference will no longer take place as scheduled as Roy Hodgson was taken ill during this morning’s training session.”

It comes with speculation mounting over Hodgson’s future. Express Sport understands that the 76-year-old will be dismissed if Palace can agree a deal with former Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner.
