Ronnie O’Sullivan returns to the table today as the snooker icon gets one step closer to a date with destiny.
‘The Rocket’ meets Shaun Murphy in the last four of the competition, with all eyes on the final and a record-extending eighth title.
Action gets under way from just after 1pm, with the victor to meet either Ali Carter or Mark Allen in the grand final.
On Friday a frustrated O’Sullivan labelled himself “awful” despite beating Barry Hawkins 6-3 to stay on course for a another title tilt and a further place in the history books.
O’Sullivan rallied from 3-2 down to secure a place in his 15th Masters semi-final at Alexandra Palace. Murphy joins him at the table having defeated Jack Lisowski 6-3.
“I’m lucky to get through,” O’Sullivan told the BBC after navigating the quarter-finals.
“I felt bad for Barry – I just dragged him down to my level. It’s a funny old game.
“I didn’t feel any pressure at all to be honest. Maybe that’s why I played like I did. I think you need that pressure sometimes to get you motivated.”
