Ronnie O'Sullivan making snooker rival 'sick' as tensions tipped to 'come to a head'

Last year, O’Sullivan claimed that he is prepared to walk away from snooker if the WST does not allow him to compete in Chinese exhibitions instead of tour competitions in Europe.

After winning the Masters in a grudge match against Carter, the 48-year-old said he would take a break after the World Grand Prix but continued to play in the World Open qualifiers.

Williams believes that an O’Sullivan retirement would leave a big void in snooker, but he does not expect that to happen any time soon. “Ronnie would be a massive loss,” said Williams. “He’s the biggest draw we’ve got. I’ve always said that. “He’s been saying he’s going to quit for 30 years. I don’t think he’s going anywhere.”
