Ronnie O'Sullivan 'breaks the rules' at World Snooker Championship as he eyes title

Ronnie O’Sullivan claimed he has ‘already broken the rules of snooker’ after his first round win over Jackson Page at the 2024 World Championship. Leading 8-1 overnight, the seven-time champion didn’t need long to finish the job, opening up with a break of 70 before taking a tigher second frame to prevail 10-1.

And despite his convincing display, the ‘Rocket’ said afterwards he was still searching for his best form. “I know the ability is there, I’m just trying to find the formula sometimes.” he told the BBC.

“That’s what I’m always trying to do. Just keep going. I’ve already broken the rules of snooker as far as I’m concerned, I’m still going at 48, 49, whatever it is. I’m just seeing what’s possible now.”
