Robert Kennedy Jr dismisses talk of 2024 election deal with Trump to overthrow Biden

The interview came shortly after Trump’s legal problems escalated again with 37 indictments added to his case for allegedly taking classified papers from the White House.

Kennedy told The Daily Express US how he and the former President have “a very different approach to governance”, saying: “I think a different outlook on life that is not compatible [with Trump]. You know, on some issues I agree with him. I agree that we need to dial back the welfare state.”

But Kennedy believes Trump, who won in 2016 with a promise to overhaul Washington DC, has failed in his goals.

“[We agree] on how we need to reduce the power in Washington [but] I don’t think he did a very good job with that. I don’t think he was able to stand up to his own bureaucracy. You know, Trump imposed lockdowns even though he knew they were wrong,” he said.

Kennedy Jr says he does agree on not pushing for conflicts around the world, which he suggests Trump does.

Kennedy said: “He [Trump] went along with all the mandates he, you know, he brought in pharmaceutical industry insiders to run the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

He was also concerned with the way Trump appointed “lobbyists” such as Alex Azar as Secretary for Health.

The Democrat hopeful added: “I think we need a president who’s able to stand up to the technocracy.”
