Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand interrupted an interview to slap Andre Onana to congratulate the goalkeeper for his excellent display in the Red Devils’ Champions League victory over Copenhagen. Onana saved a late penalty to preserve United’s first European victory of the season.
Ferdinand jubilantly celebrated with the summer signing after the game. Onana was conducting an interview with United’s on-house channel MUTV and was interrupted by the former centre-back.
The shot-stopper was discussing Harry Maguire’s match-winning goal when Ferdinand appeared out of shot. The television pundit shouted “Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!” before endearingly slapping Onana on the chest.
