'Resentful' Meghan Markle and Prince Harry slammed for being 'easily offended' by expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have once again been blasted by a leading royal commentator for being “easily offended”. Robert Hardman branded the couple “pretty prickly”, “resentful” and “easily offended” in a savage rant on GB News.

Mr Hardman, author of Charles III: The Making of a Modern Monarch, told Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster that the Sussexes’ “riposte to any given situation” was evidence of their collective fragility.

He said: “You see time and again that they feel resentful, they feel that something hasn’t gone their way and that this is part of some sort of calculated campaign against them.

Referring to 39-year-old Harry’s recollection of the hours after the passing of the Queen, where he alleged that nobody was returning his calls, Mr Hardman argued that the Prince’s complaints were “all a bit me, me, me”.

The author goes on: “I just think it’s very sad because, you know, Harry and Meghan had such potential and now when we do tend to hear from them on a royal matter, it’s just to say how miserable they were being royal.”

Mr Hardman’s barbs come after he claimed in his latest book that the late Queen was “furious” about Harry and Meghan allegedly not asking for permission to name their daughter Lilibet – the Queen’s nickname.

According to the author, the Queen told aides: “I don’t own the palaces. I don’t own the paintings, the only thing I own is my name. And now they’ve taken that.”

However, the California couple are reported to vehemently deny the claims. An Sussex insider said: “Meghan and Harry 100 per cent got permission from the Queen to use the name Lilibet. The report is not true.

“They don’t know where this is coming from. They are shocked that this is coming now; it seems out of nowhere and out of left field. They just feel like it’s more of the same smear campaign that continues against them.

“They feel it’s convenient that this is surfacing now when the Queen is not here to defend herself and can’t say what is true or false.”
