A map of the route pro-Palestine protesters will take through London has been revealed.
The Metropolitan Police will have significant powers to stop and search protesters, and crack down on any splinter groups over Remembrance weekend.
The police’s extensive planning covers both Armistice and Remembrance events as well as a significant march by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign. The Cenotaph will have a 24-hour police presence.
The police have set up exclusion zones covering the Cenotaph, Whitehall, Horse Guards Parade, the Westminster Abbey Field of Remembrance and other relevant areas.
The force said that “anyone believed to be part of, or associated with, the pro-Palestinian demonstration trying to assemble in this area can be arrested”.
Meanwhile, the organisers of the pro-Palestine march due to take place on Armistice Day say it will be one of Britain’s biggest days of mass protests.
Ben Jamal, director of the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign, expects hundreds of thousands” of people to turn up.
This comes against the backdrop of a political row after comments made by Home Secretary Suella Braverman, who criticised the Met Police over its decision to allow the pro-Palestine protests to go ahead.
