Queen Letizia dazzles in black sequin dress and wears gorgeous smoky eye make up

Queen Letizia of Spain looked striking in an all-black ensemble as she accompanied her husband King Felipe on a royal visit to the Danish capital Copenhagen this week.

The Spanish Queen wore a sequinned black midi-dress and strappy sandals, with a longer wool coat worn over the top to keep out the cold autumnal weather.

For her make up Letizia opted for a complementary smoky eye, bronzed base and nude lip, a beauty look also favoured by the Duchess of Sussex, with her hair styled in Hollywood waves.

She and the King are in Copenhagen on a state visit and last night attended the Sorolla Exhibition, dedicated entirely to the Spanish painter Joaquin Sorolla.

The Danish Royal Family, Queen Margrethe, her son Crown Prince Frederik and his wife Princess Mary, were also at the event, with Mary looking equally chic in an off-the-shoulder black top and green jacquard skirt.

Queen Margrethe II stood out in a vivid red gown, with a black coat with grey fur trimming worn over the top to keep out the chilly November air.

Earlier in the day Queen Letizia and Princess Mary visited the site of a new children’s hospital in the city, after laying a wreath to honour military personnel to begin the excursion.

They were shown around the new Mary Elizabeth’s Hospital for Children, Teens, and Expecting Families, in Copenhagen, which is due to open in 2026.

The royal mothers met with children requiring hospital treatment, with the new institution set to specialise in caring for children, teenagers and pregnant mothers.

Mary and Frederik are parents to four children – Prince Christian, 18, Princess Isabella, 16, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, 12.

Letizia and Felipe have two daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, with the elder daughter’s recent 18th birthday causing quite a stir in Spain.

Leonor is one of the most popular royals in Spain, and as she is now 18 she is able to act as Regent for her father should he ever become incapacitated.

On the day of the birthday, October 31, she swore allegiance to the Constitution at a formal ceremony in the Spanish Parliament before receiving the medals of Congress and the Senate.

In May this year she graduated from UWC Atlantic, a boarding school in the Vale of Glamorgan in Wales where she was studying for her International Baccalaureate.
