Queen Camilla wows in white Fiona Clare gown and royal jewels at Palace reception

Queen Camilla was appropriately attired in dazzling white for the Buckingham Palace Diplomatic Reception on Tuesday night, with white tie the dress code for the occasion.

Camilla wore a gown by Fiona Clare, one of her favourite designers, as she joined the three other most senior royals, King Charles, Prince William and Princess Kate at the event.

She accessorised her embroidered evening gown with the Girls of Great Britain and Northern Ireland tiara, her Order of the Garter sash and star and the late Queen Elizabeth’s diamond bracelet.

The Queen also surprised royal watchers by wearing the Queen Mother’s stomacher diamond brooch, a style of jewellery not worn so often in modern times.

The royals put on a united front in the wake of the recent Omid Scobie scandal, which saw the names of the alleged ‘royal racists’ named in error in the Dutch translation of Endgame.

The royals have previously faced criticism for not travelling Down Under sooner, as Charles and Camilla have not visited the country since they became monarchs.

It is known that Camilla is not a big fan of long-distance travelling, as she does not like to fly, however the King and Queen have an obligation to visit the Commonwealth.

The rumoured visit may be planned for next October, to coincide with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa on October 21 2024.
