Queen Camilla and Princess Kate watch Remembrance Sunday service from balcony

Queen Camilla, Princess Kate and Duchess Sophie are among the senior members of the Royal Family who are watching the Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph from the Whitehall balconies.

The trio, who wore all black for the occassion, are watching the event from the balcony of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and are joined by Princess Anne’s husband Sir Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

Due to the size of the balcony, only a small members of the Royal Family can stand on each one.

As is royal tradition, the order is determined by rank, which is why Camilla stands ahead of the others, followed by Kate whose husband is heir to the throne. Sophie stands on a separate balcony with Sir Timothy.

The women watched from the balcony as King Charles laid a wreath at the Cenotaph in memory of Britain’s fallen soldiers. An equerry laid a wreath on behalf of the Queen.
