Putin's bulging muscles and invasion of USA feature in bizarre 2024 calendar

A Russian veterans organisation is selling a 2024 calendar featuring a muscle-bound Vladimir Putin.

The calendar continues a series of propaganda images including one showing a Russian soldier outside the US Capitol building in Washington DC with a drone and helicopter overhead.

Many of the images look to link the Russian military with historical conflicts such as World War II.

The July calendar depiction shows a soldier kneeling while a Soviet fighter raises the USSR flag in the background.

This spiral-bound calendar is just one of the many items available from the Fund for Support of Combat Veterans.

Highly stylised images created by the Moscow illustrator Tatyana Kazantseva show Russian soldiers posing with animals including a ginger cat and the fictional ‘Cheburashka’ a bear-like creature with big ears.

Other pictures attempt to paint the Russian army as a protector with a woman shown being held by a soldier.

The suggested retail price for it is 4,500 rubles (£40), but certain retailers are currently offering it for a reduced price of only 986 rubles (£8.70).

Sales with generate income for ‘Funds for Support of Veterans of Combat Operations’.

Alongside the calendar, the fundraising drive also sees various merchandise put up for sale including magnets, mugs and hoodies.

The Russian tabloid Komsomolskaya Pravda’s 2024 calendar features 12 images of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Among them are images of Putin interacting with one of his dogs in a snowy setting, being surrounded by young athletes, and even donning a judo outfit in one image.
