'Protective' Princess Kate has ensured George is unaware of his 'elevated situation'

Princess Kate is making sure that Prince George is able to live a normal life as a young boy, despite the fact he will one day become King, a royal expert has claimed.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward said that while George is “popular amongst his peers”, he is “unaware” of what his elevated status really means.

Ms Seward said: “The Princess has been careful. Kate knows what children can be like when they see someone’s parents command so much attention and is very protective.”

George, who was born in 2013, is the eldest of Kate and William’s children, making him second in line to the throne.

Despite this, he has “none of that unattractive self-assurance that little rich kids can so easily adopt”, Ms Seward told the Mirror.

Last month, Prince William said that he will be exposing his children to the issues of homelessness, not wanting them to grow up completely sheltered from the real world.

In a Sunday Times interview this June, he said: “When I left this morning, one of the things I was thinking was when is the right time to bring George or Charlotte or Louis to a homeless organisation?”

He explained that when he can balance it with their schooling, his children “will definitely be exposed to it”.

George, Charlotte (eight), and Louis (five), William said, will grow up knowing that “some of us are very fortunate, some of us need a little bit of a helping hand, some of us need to do a bit more where we can to help others improve their lives”.

Prince George turned 10 today and the occasion was marked with a new photograph released to the public.

The picture shows George sitting on steps at Windsor, where the family now lives. Usually, George and his siblings’ birthday pictures are taken by their mother, Kate, Princess of Wales, but this one was taken by Millie Pilkington.

George can be seen wearing a white shirt with green trousers and brown shoes, and people couldn’t help pointing out just how much he resembles his parents.

William and Kate moved with their children from Kensington Palace in West London to Windsor last year, and they now live at Adelaide Cottage.

In September, George, Charlotte, and Louis started at Lambrook School in Berkshire following the relocation.

This summer, George was seen at the Wimbledon final with his parents and Charlotte in the royal box, when Carlos Alcaraz took home the title.

George, who is clearly into his sport, was also seen watching the Ashes at Lord’s with his father at the start of July.
