Pro-Palestine protesters storm Leicester drone factory with flares and smash glass

Pro-Palestinian protesters have stormed a drone factory in Leicester, letting off flares and smashing glass.

Footage posted online shows a white van bedecked in Palestinian flags after it charged at the gates of the complex as armed police swoop on the scene moments later.

The attack follows on from an attempted siege of the factory in May.

It was reported that the activist group Palestine Action were behind the demonstration outside the UAV Tactical Systems factory.

The latest incident comes just over a week into the intense Israel-Hamas war.

Alongside the protesters, two police vehicles can also be seen, a saloon on one side of the gate is joined by a police SUV soon after on the other.

Two police officers exit the vehicle before aiming devices at the protesters, one of whom raised their hands in the sub-30 second clip.

The company which has allegedly been attacked said earlier this year that it “does not supply the Israeli military or Israeli Ministry of Defence.”

They added: “Any claims to the contrary are completely false.”

According to LeicestershireLive, flares have also been set off at the site as the police react to and contain the attack.

Leicestershire Police have been contacted for comment.
