Pro-Palestine protesters chant on packed Tube train as thousands flood London streets

Police are investigating after a video showing pro-Palestine protesters chanting on a packed London Underground train circulated on social media.

The video appears to show demonstraters standing in the busy carriage chanting ‘Palestine will be free’ and whistling between Kensington and Trafalgar Square this morning (Saturday, November 4).

One man is filmed leading the chants and rallying the crowd using a megaphone.

It comes as thousands flooded the streets in London to call for a ceasfire as Israel’s ground invasion of Gaza continues.

British Transport Police confirmed they are investigating the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: “British Transport Police are aware of footage circulating on social media showing chanting on a tube train.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

“We urge anyone wishing to make a report related to this incident to text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40 with reference 26 of 4/11/23.”

Today’s protest marked the fourth consecutive week of demonstrations in the capital over the Israel-Hamas war.

At least three people have been arrested so far, with crowds holding a sit in at major London stations including Charing Cross.

In an earlier video, the crowd descends into chaos after police tackled protesters to the ground.

Several nearby protesters then swarm the police and demand the officers ‘let them go’.

“All three have been taken to central London police stations.”

A statement from the Met Police read: “Officers have made three arrests at Piccadilly Circus.

“One person was arrested after they were seen displaying a placard that could incite hated, contrary to Section 12 of the Terrorism Act.

“Two other people were arrested; one for breaching conditions of Section 12 of the Public Order Act and the other for assaulting a police officer.
