Princess Mary shares festive family snap as Danish royals spend Christmas in Australia


Princess Mary of Denmark shared a special festive Christmas message from Down Under after the family of six reached Australia for celebrations. The family of six later landed in Tasmania on Thursday, where they are set to spend Christmas with Mary’s extended family.

The visit marks their first family trip to Australia in five years.

Sharing a photograph on Instagram, the Princess wrote: Merry Christmas from “Down Under” – where we celebrate Christmas in Tasmania.

“Here it is neither frostbite nor just trees but summer and warm weather.”

Royal fans were excited to see the Danish Princess and the family returning to Australia after five years.

A fan @becljd commented: “Welcome home Mary! Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas here in Australia.”

Another, operating under the handle @pfs666, said: “Welcome back to a warm Christmas. We hope you will always feel at home here too, anywhere in Australia.”

A third user @littlemalteeser added: “I am so happy to have our Princess visit us again with her entire family here in Australia.

“Hope they have a wonderful, joyous and special time during their stay. And a memorable one. Bless.”

It is understood the family will stay at Government House in Hobart while visiting relatives.

Princess Mary last visited Australia without her family in March this year, when she touched down in Melbourne for a surprise visit.
