Princess Kate's unlikely celebrity ally helping her through abdominal surgery recovery

The Princess of Wales has found an unlikely recovery companion in the guise of former Liberty X singer Jessica Pietersen.

Sources close to the Wales family tell the Express that Prince William and Kate formed a close bond with Ex-England cricketer Kevin Pietersen, 43, and his wife Jessica, also 43, after their children became firm friends at Lambrook.

“Charlotte is friends with Jessica’s daughter Rosie. They are very similar in age,” the source said. “Through this connection, the couples have become close, and they [Kevin and Jessica] often make trips to see William and Kate at Adelaide Cottage.”

Over the weekend, Kate was filmed carrying a shopping bag and walking from a farm shop with William – the first footage of the future queen since her abdominal surgery in January.

Today, Kevin Pietersen stood up in defence of the royal couple and slammed “absolutely absurd” conspiracy theories about Princess Kate. Slamming the trolls still claiming it is not Kate in the video, Kevin said: “The conspiracy theories around Kate are absolutely absurd”.

“We see W&K [William and Kate] most days and in the last couple days too! It beggars belief that people would be so ridiculous and cruel in writing BULLS**T on this platform that are out and out lies,” Kevin wrote online.

“W&K are the most wonderful parents and as normal/humble as they come. Let K who is recovering from an operation recover. Leave her and her beautiful family alone.”

The source adds that Kevin and his wife live in Wentworth which is very close to Windsor and often host the royals at their palatial pad in Surrey.

“William and Kate have been over to Kevin and Jessica’s house many times and vice versa,” the source said. “The children play, and the adults have their time together. They have built up a firm friendship.”

Jessica first found fame in 2001 when she auditioned for the ITV reality show Popstars, similar to X Factor today. The five winning contestants formed Hear’Say while the five runner-up contestants formed the pop group Liberty X which included Jessica. Liberty X released three studio albums and enjoyed seven Top 10 singles from 2001 to 2005 after signing a multi-million-pound record deal with V2 Records and Richard Branson.

“Jessica has come a long way from where she grew up in Preston,” the source said. “She always had big ideas and knew she was going to be famous, but she’s managed to climb her way to the very top this time.”
