Princess Kate's uncle to 'set the record straight' about Harry and Meghan in new memoir

Gary Goldsmith, the younger brother of Carole Middleton, is preparing to “set the record straight” in a tell-all memoir.

The book is tipped for release one year on from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s explosive Netflix docuseries and Prince Harry’s own memoir, Spare. The former was released in December 2022 and the latter was published in January.

Princess Kate’s maternal uncle wants to give the Middleton family an opportunity to have “a voice” amid the ongoing accusations and feud levelled with the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Speaking to New, one source said: “When [Prince] Harry was originally compiling his book, his publisher was confident [Prince] William wouldn’t comment, because it wouldn’t be fitting for a future King to do so.

“Harry wouldn’t have anticipated such a comeback from Kate’s family.”

Speaking on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s potential thoughts, the source added: “He and Meghan won’t like it one bit and will be dreading the book’s release.”

This isn’t the first time that Gary, 58, has spoken out about wanting to write a memoir.

Having amassed a multi-million-pound fortune through his own IT recruitment company, he first opened up about penning a memoir in 2013.

At the time, he stressed that he wouldn’t embarrass Princess Kate nor Prince William – he may now have changed his mind.

The source continued, adding: “Gary has been talking to the press a lot lately and his comments seem to have gone down well with some people, especially his criticism of Harry and Meghan.

“He did originally plan to focus the book on himself and his journey to becoming a millionaire, but he will now add in some private family details.”

Although it has been stated that the memoir could contain some shock revelations, Gary will ensure to get his royal niece to check over the manuscript first, prior to it going to a publisher.

They added: “But it could be a good way of putting a Middleton voice out there to set the record straight over some of the things Harry wrote about in Spare.”
