Kate, Princess of Wales is one of the most popular royals who enchants many of the people she encounters during royal visits and while on walkabouts.
However, during a visit to New York with Prince William in December 2014 Kate attracted some negative attention as she was told off for not focusing on her immediate task, yet her candid but uncharacteristic response endeared her to royal fans even more.
The royal couple visited a children’s centre in the city and were helping to wrap Christmas presents, with Kate diligently cutting ribbon and folding the paper for the gifts.
At one point Kate paused to chat to some of the other volunteers, but was quickly snapped at and told to “keep wrapping”, which sparked a hilarious reaction in the Princess.
She pulled a face and rolled her eyes at the strict rule, however just a second later she smiled and laughed it off, carrying on and seeming to enjoy her day.

It was the last official trip that Kate and William made to the Big Apple, while Kate was still pregnant with their now eight-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte.
However in September William will be travelling across the pond for the second Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit at the United Nations General Assembly.
He had been expected to attend the inaugural summit last year but was forced to cancel his trip after the death of Queen Elizabeth on September 8.
Instead he recorded a video message for those at the event, in which he said: “During this time of grief, I take great comfort in your continued enthusiasm, optimism and commitment to The Earthshot Prize and what we are trying to achieve.
“Protecting the environment was a cause close to my Grandmother’s heart, and I know she would have been delighted to hear about this event and the support you are all giving our Earthshot Finalists – the next generation of environmental pioneers.
“Together in this room, are the people and organisations who will help us to achieve the Earthshot mission: to repair, restore and rejuvenate our planet within this current decade. That mission is not simple.”
In November 2022 William and Kate travelled to the US for the Earthshot Prize Awards in Boston, which will this year be hosted in Singapore with the royal couple as esteemed guests.
It is not thought that their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will accompany them as the visit falls during school term time.
This may be particularly disappointing for little Louis, who is still yet to join his parents for an international royal tour.
