Princess Kate's ‘dimension & extra volume’ hairstyle can be achieved in five simple steps

Kate, Princess of Wales, 41, arrived at Wimbledon looking elegant as ever whilst showcasing her immaculate royal blowout.

For her outfit, Kate wore a new Balmain blazer in mint and white, which costs £1,950.

In addition, the Princess carried a £675 Mulberry white handbag and also wore £72 pearl earrings from Shyla London.

For footwear, she wore Gianvito Rossi heels in white leather which perfectly matched her white skirt and mint green blazer.

But it was Kate’s hairstyle which wowed royal fans and style experts alike.

The Princess opted for her usual hairstyle which consists of loose waves through to the end and styled in a side parting.

Laura Elliott, the head artist at Neäl & Wølf, who has years of experience in the hair industry, shared tips on how to recreate the Princess’s iconic hairstyle with Express.co.uk.

Laura Elliott commented on the steps to achieve Kate’s classic blowout.

Step one

Laura said: “I would firstly recommend choosing the right type of shampoo and conditioner as this makes all the difference, for example, a shampoo that’s formulated to address a specific hair type.

“For fine, flat hair try Neäl & Wølf’s Amplify Volumising Shampoo and be sure to only add conditioner to the ends as too much build-up on the scalp can cause hair to become greasy and heavy quicker.”

Step two

Laura added: “To enhance the blowout even more try using a volumising mousse, this will give your hair a long-lasting, durable hold, and can exaggerate the body and shine.”

Step three

Laura claimed: “Next up is blowing out the volume. I would recommend not using the round brush until the end and instead start by flipping your head upside down and begin by rough drying.

“This will lift the roots and rough up the cuticles, increasing volume.”

Step four

Laura commented: “When hair is 70 percent dry, flip back over and start blow drying with the brush.

“Remember that not all round brushes give the same results, metal brushes are good for heat reinforcement, and boar bristle brushes are firmer and denser to create more tension pulling on the hair for more volume and lift.

“If you’re wanting more flicks to the ends of the hair you’ll need a smaller round brush as this gives more of a bend and for more subtle movement choose a larger brush.”

Step five

Laura suggested: “The Princess’s blow dry features a stylish side part which creates dimension and extra volume, but you can choose to leave it centre parted.

“To create a side part, hold the tip of a comb down towards the scalp and begin creating the straight line down your hair in the desired position. To ensure the blowout lasts finish with a good hairspray that will hold shape and prevents frizz.”
