Princess Kate's cute reply to little girl who asked her why she wasn't wearing a dress

Princess Kate gave a cute reply to a little girl who asked why she wasn’t wearing a dress during a trip to Cumbria.

During the trip, the Princess of Wales, 41, looked both casual and stylish as she had a go at shearing a sheep.

She travelled to the region to celebrate the “resilience and spirit” of farming communities and was accompanied by Prince William.

While most people loved Kate’s dressed down look – a £275 olive jacket by Troy London over a white shirt and grey jumper, with black skinny jeans and £250 suede hiking boots by Chloe – one little girl wasn’t as impressed, reported People.

She was very disappointed that the mother-of-three wasn’t dressed like Disney’s princess Elsa.

The girl and her sister presented Kate with a bunch of flowers during the day and shook her hand, reports People.

Her father said: “It’s a princess. You love princesses!”

He then said to Kate: “She wanted to know if you’d be wearing your Princess Elsa dress.”

Kate’s response to the little girl was completely adorable.

She said: “I know. I’m sorry. I came in my trousers and my coat because I’m going to see some sheep.”

Kate and William joined a celebration to recognise the contribution of individuals and local organisations in supporting communities and families across Cumbria.

The royal couple also met volunteers including those from the local mountain rescue service, community first responders, young people trained as mental health first aiders and other organisations that have benefitted from grants from the Cumbria Community Foundation.

Before departing Keswick, the Prince and Princess of Wales spent some time in the Market Square meeting members of the public gathered outside.
