Princess Kate's 12 best and funniest reactions at Wimbledon over the years


1. During the longest ever Championship final between Novak Djokovic and Kate’s pal Roger Federer in 2019 the Princess was pictured with her head in her hands at one point, although the Serbian eventually triumphed.

2. Djokovic once again brought a grimace to Kate’s face as she watched him take on Kevin Anderson in 2018 in the men’s final.

3. Although Kate sadly had to miss Andy Murray winning his first Wimbledon in 2013 due to being heavily pregnant with Prince George, in 2016 her and Prince William were able to cheer on his second victory.

4. The following year the Prince and Princess were on their feet to celebrate Federer, who joined Kate in the Royal Box this year alongside his wife Mirka, beating Marin Cilic in the men’s final.

5. On the opening day of Wimbledon in 2017 Kate was at Centre Court to take in all the action.

6. Andy Murray’s semi-final match against Vasek Pospisil in 2015 left the Princess very tense, although Murray progressed through to the final where he was beaten by Federer.

7. Kate and Wills struggled to even watch in 2014 as Simona Halep played Sabine Lisicki, her first year back watching the tennis after having Prince George the previous July.

8. In the same year the final between Djokovic and Federer sparked a similar reaction from the royal couple.

9. At the same match Kate appeared very animated, likely echoing the feelings of millions around the world watching the game.

10. There were also fortunately moments of joy in the game, as A-listers including the Beckhams, Bradley Cooper, Hugh Jackman and Sir Chris Hoy also looked on.

11. Prince William punched the air in delight as Djokovic eventually claimed victory in the fifth set.
