Princess Kate was bullied teen who turned into 'beauty' who all the boys 'fancied rotten'

The Princess of Wales wasn’t always the confident royal we see today and was once a shy teenager at one of the most prestigious schools in the country. Kate Middleton attended the £42,930 per year Malborough College before securing her place at St Andrews University, where she would meet Prince William. But her teenage years were worlds apart from the Princess we know today.

Kate’s former dorm mate Gemma Williamson described the future Queen as “thin and pale” in her teenage years adding that “she had very little confidence”.

Kate’s house tutor Joan Gall continued: “When she arrived she was very quiet. Coming into a big school like Marlborough was difficult, but she settled in quickly.

“It was like a big, happy family. We would do things like bake cakes and watch videos.”

Marlborough has seen the likes of comedian Jack Whitehall, artist William Morris and Samantha Cameron, the wife of former Prime Minister David Cameron.

During her time at the school Kate was only caught in one moment of bad behaviour after she threw up on the train home after one of her hockey teammates hosted an all-night champagne and dance party, the Daily Mail reports.

Despite her dazzling looks and fashion choices in current times, Kate was overlooked.

But it wasn’t long before the future Princess transformed with Kate returning to sixth form when boys “fancied her rotten”, her friend Gemma said.

Classmate Jack Whitehall later confessed that Kate was his first crush.

In an interview he joked about the attention she would get saying: “I went to the same secondary school as Kate Middleton and she’s someone they like to talk about.

“I’ve been sending them a letter each year saying maybe now it’s time to put me in the school prospectus or on the walls. I feel like I’m their dirty little secret.”

In her yearbook, Kate was described as the “person most likely to be loved by everybody”.

Months later, she made her way to Scotland where she met her future husband and heir to the throne, Prince William.

According to Kate, it took some time for the two to get to know each other.

In their engagement interview, the Princess recalled their first meeting saying: ” “I think you said I actually went bright red when I met you and sort of scuttled off.”

From there on the couple became “very close friends” and moved in together with two other friends before making their relationship official in 2002. They have been married since 2011 and have three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
