Princess Kate spilled the beans on favourite snack of Charlotte: 'She encourages cooking'

Kate, the Princess of Wales, shared a glimpse into the Cambridge royals culinary life, revealing a favourite snack of Princess Charlotte.

Way back in 2018, the then-Duchess of Cambridge visited Great Ormond Street Hospital, where she met a brave young girl waiting for a heart transplant.

But while meeting the youngster awaiting life-changing surgery, the girl told Kate she liked olives.

The royal said back: “I used to eat lots and lots of olives when I was little as well.”

After the visit, royal reporter Rebecca English shared on Twitter that Kate confirmed her daughter also loved the snack.

“The Duchess of Cambridge revealed today that her daughter, Princess Charlotte, loves olives and she encourages both her and Prince George to cook with her,” she said.

In 2019, while visiting Lavender Primary School, Kate also shared that her children love to help their mum out in the kitchen and enjoy getting their hands messy and working together.

“One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in” for cheesy pasta, Matthew Kleiner-Mann, chief executive of the Ivy Learning Trust, said about Kate’s kids that year.

More recently, Prince William hailed his wife’s cooking, calling her “very good” in the kitchen.

In January at Together as One headquarters in Berkshire, as he took part in a cooking class for young carers, he greeted staff and volunteers before getting stuck into making chicken teriyaki and noodles for lunch.

During the visit though, William told chef Kevin Muhammad: “I do a bit of cooking, not much though. Catherine’s very good though.

“I do a mean steak. My sauces come out quite dry or lumpy – I’ve got to work on those!”
