Princess Kate sparks confusion as she gives update on Prince Louis's schooling

Some fans have been left baffled by Princess Kate’s comments on Prince Louis’s schooling. A video on social media showed the Princess of Wales discussing her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, with a group of schoolchildren while reopening the Young V&A museum in east London. The children were particularly interested in what school years the three royal youngsters were in.

Kate told them: “My daughter Charlotte is going into Year 4 next year. I’m Charlotte’s mummy. And then George is in Year 5. And Louis’ in reception.”

Fans from outside the UK were left perplexed by the term “reception” which isn’t typically used elsewhere in the world.

One user commented: “Louis in reception sounds like she left him in the lobby or something.”

Another asked: “What is reception? Like preschool?”

A third wrote: “What does in reception mean?”

Kate and Prince William’s children attend Berkshire’s independent Lambrook School.

The siblings had been enrolled at Thomas’s in Battersea near their old home at Kensington Palace before moving to Windsor.

The couple are currently discussing where George, who turns 10 soon, will go to school once he turns 13.

Lambrook School educates pupils from the ages of three to 13 and the family have been seen looking around Eton College where both William and Prince Harry were educated.
