Princess Kate dazzled on a trip to a Royal Navy air base in Somerset this week as she showed “consistent confidence”, while her husband Prince William was in New York meeting with UN leader Antonio Guterres.
Body language expert Darren Stanton explained that, in spite of not being born royal, Kate seemed to show greater ease during her royal visit than William, as she “stepped up” while he appeared more “understated”.
Mr Stanton also noted that the Princess was very popular with some of the men accompanying her, who displayed some “flirtatious signals”, however she maintained a respectful politeness and remained loyal to William.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo he said: “Kate tried on the lifejacket, and she looked like she was really enjoying herself. She was showing lots of genuine laughter, and they seemed to be loving spending time with her. Some of the guys gave a few flirtatious signals here and there.
“Kate didn’t respond – she was polite and friendly but respectful of William. We saw her really letting go. She looked relaxed as her shoulders were down, and had lots of natural interaction with the staff.”

He added that the Princess seemed more than happy operating on her own without William’s support, as she met with members of the public and was very much the “centre of attention”.
The expert continued: “She wasn’t phased by William not being there. There’s a very similar trait between Charles and Camilla and William and Kate – in that both the men lose a bit of their confidence when their partners aren’t by their sides. Whereas Camilla and Kate show they are strong and independent on their own.
“Kate is William’s rock and we often see him letting her take the lead during their joint engagements, with the royal happy to watch on proudly as she takes charge during interactions.
“Out solo, William takes a more reserved approach and isn’t as animated as he can be when joined by Kate.”
Out of the 15 finalists, five will be chosen to receive a £1 million grant to help put their innovative ideas into practice, with the aim of fighting climate change and helping the planet and its wildlife.
Last year Kate and William travelled to Boston for the prizegiving ceremony, which is usually held in November, but this year it will be held in Singapore.
But it is not expected that Kate will accompany the Prince for the annoucement of the winners later this autumn.
