Princess Kate shows off playful side in sweet moment with kids during Cardiff visit

Princess Kate has been snapped indulging in her playful side on a royal engagement in Cardiff with husband Prince William today, October 3.

While greeting a group of schoolchildren at the city’s Grange Pavilion Kate chatted to the kids, fist bumped and high-fived them, even appearing to share a joke with a few as she cheekily put her finger up to her lips.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are in the Welsh capital for the beginning of Black History Month, with the celebrations this year coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the HMT Empire Windrush to the United Kingdom.

During their visit, the couple met with members of the Windrush Cymru Elders, Black History Cymru 365 and the Ethnic Minority Youth Forum for Wales to hear all about the incredible contribution the Windrush generation have made to the Welsh community.

In honour of Black History Month, the royals also spent time learning how the young ethnic minority individuals are helping to create a positive change in Wales.

Kate wore another chic suit while in Cardiff, this time a tailored navy pinstripe jacket and trouser co-ord, which she wore just days ago for a separate engagement at Windsor Castle.

Though Kate has been known to re-wear pieces from her wardrobe, it is unusual for her to do so within such a short time period.

The trouser suit has recently been heralded as the Princess’s “work uniform” as she and the rest of the Firm get back into the swing of royal duties following their long summer break.

Royal author Elizabeth Holmes said about Kate’s style on the Royally Obsessed podcast: “I’m very interested in the way she sequences her outfit, and we started to see that in the beginning of the year. Back in January, I was like, ‘Oh, there’s a uniform emerging, that she was kind of relying on, I don’t know, I kind of call it, an equation.’

“I was calling it ‘Kate’s Uniform’ in the winter and into the spring. And now in the fall, it’s kind of sharpened into… SUITS.

“I love this for her, if I’m being honest because it’s such a vibe. And suits are trending right now. They’re everywhere. It’s such a professional, woman at work, vibe. Kate is doing it in a way that she is embracing royal colours, too, like jewel tones. But, suits. We are seeing so many suits from her.”
