Princess Kate set to turn down role at Trooping the Colour despite gaining new honour


Queen Camilla will also arrive in a carriage, and will not by horseback, and will not wear military attire.

The newly-crowned Queen was recently appointed Colonel of the Grenadier Guards and was a role previously held by Prince Andrew.

Last year, Kate engaged in various military engagements – including one at Pirbright Training Academy which occurred before she took on the military role.

At the time, Kate visited the academy where she observed how new recruits and serving personnel are trained.

The royal beamed as she also got stuck into some of the training exercises at hand.

In March this year, the 41-year-old also took part in some gruelling activities as she visted the 1st Battalion Irish Guards for the first time since taking on the military role.

Kate was kitted out in full military wear as she joined soliders on a snow-covered Salisbury Plain.
