Princess Kate found herself in a 'lonely place' after Meghan Markle left the Royal Family

The Princess of Wales reportedly found herself in a “lonely place” after Meghan Markle made the decision to leave the Royal Family.

Royal experts have now pointed out that Princess Kate is missing one crucial relationship in her role as future Queen.

After the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior working royals, Kate was left without another senior female member of the Royal Family to confide in.

However, one royal expert claims that the 42-year-old has been able to turn to another female royal – the newly-crowned Queen Mary of Denmark.

Speaking to OK!, royal expert Duncan Larcombe said: “Being in the Royal Family is a lonely place and Kate’s got very few people now, especially after the Queen’s death, who she can go to and confide in.

“The fact that things didn’t work out with Meghan was a real blow, because Prince Harry’s bride would have been another person stuck in the same situation.

“Think back to when Diana and Fergie were always giggling and would help each other let off steam… Kate hasn’t got that.”

Speaking of Kate’s bond with Mary, he added: “I’m sure that the two ladies will be in close contact; there’s a definite channel of communication between the Queen and the Queen-in-waiting.”

The similarities between Kate and Mary have often been documented – everything from their fashion choices to welcomes into the Royal Family.

Royal expert Jennie Bond previously spoke to OK! about their similarities, saying: “The two women certainly have a great deal in common, they met their future husbands within a year of one another – Mary in a pub in Sydney and Kate at St Andrew’s University.”

Like Kate, Queen Mary of Denmark is also a mother. After marrying in 2004, they now have four teenage children – Crown Prince Christian, 18, Princess Isabella, 16, and 13-year-old twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.

Kate is a mother-of-three, with a much younger age range between her children. Kate and Prince William are parents to Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight and Prince Louis, five.

Meghan Markle officially joined the Royal Family in 2018 and has since welcomed two children with Prince Harry.

Less than two years after marrying Harry, the couple decided to step down from royal duties at the start of 2020.

The couple soon moved to the US – with their young son Prince Archie in tow – and the family-of-four now reside in California.
